For continued support of the Check & Connect Coordinator position responsible for the Check & Connect and BE GREAT: Graduate Programs. Check and Connect, an evidence-based initiative to promote students’ engagement with school, reduce dropouts, and increase high school graduation rates, will serve 200 youth who will meet with mentors in groups of ten twice a week. BE GREAT: Graduate, a new component built on the Check & Connect platform, will serve 50 seventh and eighth graders with more intensive one-on-one mentoring twice weekly. The Coordinator is responsible for hiring and training mentors, monitoring and evaluating the programs, and providing case management records for each of the participants. Mentors regularly track the teenagers’ educational progress and performance, connect members to interventions in a timely fashion, and support their participation in school activities.
