To support the College Advocate Counselor for the College Bound Initiative (“CBI”) at Brooklyn High School for Leadership and Community Service, a transfer school which serves 216 over-age and under-credited students, ages 16 to 21. The School is a joint venture between the NYC Department of Education and BCS, one of Brooklyn’s largest social services agencies. The Counselor will provide individualized and group work, help students identify a “best fit” college, and support them in the entire college application process. CBI also highlights the benefits of post-secondary education to the entire student body through a year-round schedule of special events and tours of local college campuses. The CBI helps students make successful transitions from secondary education to college or advanced vocational training.
