in support of a pilot to incorporate the Trauma Systems Therapy (“TST”) model into two foster care units, providing critical evidence-informed care to 130 children, their foster parents and other key caregivers. TST is a promising clinical intervention that addresses children’s emotional needs and the social context in which they and their families live. Under this pilot, the two foster care units will convert to TST teams comprised of a supervisor, 5 case planners, and 3 therapists, each team working with 65 children ages 6 to 17, the target age for this model. The goal is to use this holistic model to improve the lives and future prospects of severely traumatized youth and their families. They will partner with the NYU Child Study Center to train the staff in TST.
