To support founding teachers’ salaries at THRIVE Academy, their second elementary school in Newark, which will open in August 2012 serving 100 kindergarten students. It will grow one grade each year until it is a fully grown K-4 school serving 500 students. Through a rigorous, inquiry infused, service learning curriculum, their students learn to think critically about problems, develop unique solutions and value the process of learning. TEAM, part of the national network of KIPP Charter Schools, will have a network of two elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school, serving over 1,500 low-income, minority students in Newark by Fall 2012.
