To provide continued funding for the Business Development Manager who works with GROCERYworks, an eight-week sector-based job training and placement program that prepares hard-to-serve New Yorkers for jobs in the food retail industry which offer decent pay, benefits and advancement opportunities. Students gain knowledge in customer service, cashiering, product recognition and store maintenance as well as obtain licenses in occupational safety and food handling. The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with businesses in the community that provide their graduates with internships and jobs, and for providing the students with job search assistance including resume-writing and interview practice.
