The first installment of a total $60,000 grant payable over 2 years, for seed money to further develop and formalize a national network of twelve pro bono legal services providers. Lawyers Alliance serves as the organizer of the network. The network plays an important role in low-income communities, advising nonprofit leaders and Board members on successful strategies to preserve their organizations’ essential community programs, ensure service continuity and manage legal risk during the coming months of increased demand for services coupled with reduced funding. The funding will allow network members to provide services more efficiently by increasing the sharing of legal models, educational materials, and program models.
