To provide renewed funding for the Teacher/Reading Specialist for the Learning Project. The Project provides assessment, intervention, advocacy and parent resources along with training for families that have children who are struggling with reading skills and comprehension. The goal of the project is to ensure that the child’s academic needs do not go unattended in the face of so many other obstacles. The Specialist visits the children at home or in school, and provides parents and caregivers with the necessary training and materials to ensure that each child can achieve success in school. NAC is a child welfare agency in NYC providing health and social services exclusively to families that have children with severe disabilities and special medical needs.
