For salary support for the New York City Director of the Emerging Leaders Program (“ELP”), a nine-month program completed while participants (teachers, leaders, school coaches and assistant principals) are working in their schools. Through virtual learning courses, in-person seminars, leadership projects at their schools, and constructive feedback from the Director and peers, the 45 to 50 ELP participants strengthen their leadership skills. The Director has two central goals: to ensure valuable leadership training to all participants and to ready participants for New Leader’s Aspiring Principals Program, a year-long full-time intensive program where graduates are expected to become urban principals immediately after completing the program. New Leaders’ mission is to ensure high academic achievement for every student by attracting and preparing outstanding leaders and supporting the performances of the urban public schools they respectively will lead.
