To provide continued support for the New York City Director of the Emerging Leaders Program (“ELP”), a nine-month program completed while participants (teachers, leaders, school coaches and assistant principals) are working in their schools. They hope to matriculate 30-35 Emerging Leaders in partnership with the NYC Department of Education and charter networks in NYC. Through virtual learning courses, in-person seminars, leadership projects at their schools, and constructive feedback from the Director and peers, the participants strengthen their leadership skills. The Director has two central goals: to ensure valuable leadership training to all participants, and to ready participants for New Leaders’ Aspiring Principals Program, a year-long full-time intensive program where graduates are expected to become urban principals immediately after completing the program.
