To support the expansion of their School Success initiative which improves educational outcomes for low-income New York City public school children who live in five of the city’s highest need neighborhoods. This pilot program will double in size this year to serve 300 children in grades K-5. The program includes individualized tutoring for students in reading, writing, math and science, and also promotes increased parental and local community engagement – a proven factor in the academic success of students. It is part of a New York Cares strategic goal of improving educational outcomes for children who live in the highest need New York City neighborhoods, particularly those neighborhoods that are hard to reach and have limited social service infrastructure.
