To support the salary of the Manager of Teacher Leadership Development for New York’s Early Childhood Education Initiative to bring high-quality teachers to pre-K classrooms in low income communities. The Manager is charged with the ongoing training and guidance of their corps members working with students aged three to five. This role involves spearheading the specialized support for corps members in Early Childhood Education (ECE) settings — from their pre-service training during their Summer Institute and throughout the year as they work to set rigorous and age-appropriate goals, both academic and developmental, for their students and lead them to growth such that the achievement gap is stopped before it starts. They will increase the size of the cohort from 9 during the pilot year, to an additional 10 to 20 new corps members.
