To support implementation of Teaching for Impact, their intensive school-based professional development program that emphasizes development and retention of the highest performing teachers to advance the practice of mid-level performing peers. Teaching Matters, recently awarded Partnership Support Organization (“PSO”) status by the NYC Department of Education, will deliver the Teaching for Impact program to the 24 schools that have opted into their network. The program incorporates professional learning communities – teacher teams lead by high performing teachers designed to accelerate student outcomes through collective work, feedback and the sharing of best practices. Their services transform how educators work together at urban public schools, helping the most effective teachers develop the skills they need to lead their peers and drive school-wide improvement.
