To provide renewed support for the Chief Program Officer who is leading organizational capacity-building as they continue to strengthen program quality and sustain student outcomes in a period of significant growth. YWLN supports two programs that empower low-income youth to break the cycle of poverty through education: The Young Women’s Leadership Schools, a high-performing network of 5 all-girls public secondary schools; and the CollegeBound Initiative, a comprehensive college guidance program for young women and men at 21 partner schools, growing to serve 13,000 students (grades 6th-12th) at 25 partner schools in FY 2015. Both programs have a good track record of increasing post-secondary outcomes for the predominantly low-income, first generation-to-college students whom they serve.
