Grant Recipients

On December 12, 2018, $310,964.16, the balance of our investments, was transferred to the New York Community Trust. Together with our 2016 $10,000 grant to Community Funds, Inc., these fund now constitute the “Fund for Astrophysical Research”.

The New York Community Trust, acting with its non-profit corporate affiliate Community Funds, Inc., has awarded the 2018 grants and will continue awarding yearly grants to the sciences of astronomy, astrophysics and allied subjects, and making knowledge relating to such subjects available to the public.

Since the inauguration of the Theodore Dunham, Jr. Grants for Research in Astronomy through 2017, the Fund made 178 awards totaling $417,919.
