The James Hall Eye Center
served 1,340 patients in 2016
The medical staff at the center is among the nation’s finest group of ophthalmologists with more than 38 years of experience of cumulative medical expertise in the field of pediatric ophthalmology
- Without the Clinic, many of its patients would not receive timely treatment and could face potential blindness.
- The James Hall Eye Center is the only pediatric eye clinic in Atlanta where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance or the family’s inability to pay. Children’s access to ophthalmologic care is severely affected as pediatric offices and physicians are not willing to see non-paying patients or Medicaid patients
- Our impact is even greater today as we have become the primary provider of ophthalmologic care in Atlanta. Most of our patients are referred to us from physicians across the state, pediatric offices, emergency rooms and local community organizations as they know no one else will admit non-paying patients. We serve patients with incomes below poverty level, Medicaid patients and children who do not qualify for state or federal assistance from birth through their teenage years. The Center provides treatment and rehabilitation therapy until the patient reaches optimal vision; some cases require ongoing medical treatment through their teenage years and even adulthood.
