Special Announcement

boy-hair-bgThe Schumann Fund for New Jersey will reduce its grantmaking to less than 3% of its corpus for the next several years.

This decision is not a reflection on the importance or value of the work of our grantees or of the nearly $40 million investments we have made for the past thirty years. It is a rather a response to investment performance and to a decision by Schumann Fund trustees and staff to rebuild the assets of the Fund in a manner that will allow us to continue to meet the needs of the communities we serve going forward.

To achieve the greatest impact with limited resources, we will support Essex County organizations providing services to young children and their families, local organizations promoting successful transition to adulthood for vulnerable youth, and public policy engagement concerning delivery of social and educational services to families and children.
