We pass this way but once in this life.
Therefore, any good we can do others, we do!
Any wrongs we can right we will!
Continue these things – all that have been chosen
So that our legacy will shine bright before our Lord,
And make this world a better place.
— John and Polly Sparks
The John and Polly Sparks Foundation was created to maintain John and Polly’s commitment to philanthropy and giving back to the community.
John Sparks was a successful entrepreneur who is most known for founding the Huddle House, Inc. He married Pauline Hornsby Campbell on August 14, 1959. Together John and Polly continued their successful business enterprises until John Sparks passed away on October 4, 1978. Polly continued the businesses that she had built with John and invested in several new business adventures. Pauline was involved in many roles during her life including working as a dairy farm hand; a waitress; restaurant operator; and owner and real estate mogul.
Throughout both John and Polly’s lives they remained steadfast in their Christian values which resonated in their commitment to giving back to the community.
The John and Polly Sparks Foundation Distribution committee hopes to honor the Sparks by continuing to give to the neediest in our communities.
For 2016 only, the application deadline for the John & Polly Sparks Foundation will be August 15 at midnight and NOT July 1. The online system is undergoing an upgrade and will not be available between July 1 and July 15.
