Grantmaking Guidelines & Procedures

Areas of Interest and Geographic Limitations:

The Bydale Foundation’s domestic geographic areas of interest are Westchester County (N.Y.) and North Carolina, or those with a nationwide focus. Within these geographic areas, the foundation provides support for programs in the areas of the environment, social justice, women’s rights, grassroots advocacy, performing arts, and poetry. The foundation also provides grants to human rights, peace advocacy and environmental organizations in Israel.

Unsolicited proposals for organizations outside these areas are not accepted. Even for organizations in these areas, awards are extremely competitive and only a very small percentage of Inquiry Application Forms are funded.

Application Process:

Organizations seeking funding must complete the one-page Inquiry Application Form.

Your Inquiry Application Form should be emailed to [email protected] with your organization name as the Re: line. Inquiry Application Forms are due August 1. When this deadline falls on a weekend, proposals are due on the previous business day.

Please do not include other documents or promotional material with the Inquiry Application Form. Please do not add this email address to any distribution lists.

You may address any questions to:

The Foundation regrettably cannot provide grantseekers with individualized advice on preparing their Inquiry Application Form, but the Foundation provides both general operating grants and funding for programs. The Bydale Foundation office will contact the organization if an Inquiry Application has been favorably reviewed and a full proposal is requested.

Grant awards and declinations will be mailed in late December.

Please do not contact the office about the status of an Inquiry Application Form.
